A significant capital investment programme at their Amersham Depot enables Brewer's to provide a leading service for the design and supply of Timber I Joists, in association with James Jones, the largest UK manufacturer, under the JJI brand name.

What are JJI-Joists?

JJI-Joists are engineered timber products designed to permit increased clear spans in floors and roofs for domestic, commercial and industrial buildings. Benefits include their increased stability, strength and straightness when compared to solid timber. JJI-joists can be installed in considerably less time than other forms of construction due to their lightness and are also guaranteed to reduce building maintenance due to their sectional stability.

The JJI-Joist Flooring System, incorporating the JJI-Joist, is the only fully engineered system designed and manufactured in the UK by a UK owned company. The system, incorporating JJI-Joists, LVL, Glulam and bespoke metalwork results in a complete design solution for most types of building applications. JJI-Joists are designed to give a superior strength to weight ratio enabling the manufacture of longer and lighter structural members. The JJI-Joist, with a softwood flange:

JoistMaster is an extremely powerful beam design tool, which enables the specifier to quickly assess the most cost effective joist solution, tailored to his particular design requirements, and provide a calculation printout suitable for Local Authority approval. FloorMaster is a comprehensive floor design and layout package allowing trained designers to quickly and accurately produce detailed layout drawings, installation details, material call-offs, calculation and design quotations for any building footprint. Leading timber-frame software packages incorporate a direct JJI-Joists design link.

Buildings approvals

JJI-Joists have third party certification from the BBA, BM TRADA, and the ETA, and are recognised by NHBC, Zurich Municipal, Building Control Offices, and others. JJI-Joists are an accepted building material within the Construction Industry thanks to third party certification from both the British Board of Agrement and BM TRADA Certification. JJI-Joists are manufactured under a Quality Assurance Scheme which complies with BS EN ISO 9001:2000. JJI-Joist floor systems are also NHBC approved for all current Building Regulations.
