Waterproof building boards for walls and floors

The ideal substrate for tiling wet areas. It is totally waterproof, offering complete peace of mind to the specifier and installer. Banished are the fears of being sued by a client because of failure or lifting of other substrates. It is the only product of this type to carry certification from the British Board of Agreement.

The most important feature of Wedi Tilebacker Board is its performance in wet conditions. Use it for showers or even for water features with total confidence - even when completely immersed for a month, Tilebacker takes up only half a per cent of water.Thanks to the unique composition of the product, tiles stay attached to Tilebacker.

This is not the case with many other substrates which cost contractors and specifiers dear in terms of finance and reputation when they have to re-place defective areas, or even face legal action for the consequences of water intrusion or delamination. Wedi Tilebacker board is also a highly efficient thermal insulator and vapour barrier. wedi Tilebacker Board is also a joy to use!

If you need to reduce impact sound on either concrete or suspended timber floors, specifying products from the Wedi NonStep range could well be your solution. For both ceramic or natural stone finishes, Wedi NonStep can deliver impact sound reduction of up to 16db. This performance can make a significant contribution to-wards 'Part E' requirements where you need to achieve ratings of 62db for new build or 64db for conversion of an existing building.
Wedi NonStep Plan can be used where the floor surface is slightly uneven, though the floor should be thoroughly cleaned before application. Plan is a 6mm thick 'mat' which consists of re-cycled rubber material blended with extruded polystyrene flakes and coated with a special flexible mineral sealing.

Uneven walls? Just fix wedi Tilebacker Building Board using dabs of adhesive. After the adhesive has cured, drive in our plastic or metal dowels. Now the glass-fibre reinforced polymer modified cement mortar surface of the board is ready to take your tiles.
