For the manufacture of doors, clear hemlock door stock is highly
recommended. This is straight grained and knot free. Major door
manufacturers use it to help overcome the inherent problems of warping
and twisting which can occur when using ordinary softwoods.
Many projects in London require a wide range of specialist softwood sections.
For example, the 'listing' of buildings, and even entire areas,
brings in statutory legislation audited by English Heritage and other
bodies, who want to ensure that the historical style and character is
maintained.
Brewer's have a long history in providing timber profiles to
exactly match or replace these sections. Skilled machinists, working
with the latest technology in the mill, regularly produce a wide range
of internal skirtings, architraves, dado and picture rails, as well as
external window and door frame sections, from high quality joinery
softwoods and hardwoods.
Whilst many projects can be planned well in advance, some
refurbishment jobs require a very quick turn round and Brewer's can
offer a fast, efficient service on special milling.
